As he matured it became apparent that his talents and movement demanded a different arena. He was then shown to Region 17 Top 5 in Show Hack and Dressage and went on to earn 3 Canadian Arabian National Dressage Championships and 2 U.S. Arabian National Top Tens. In September 2000, GAR-SUN was presented for inspection by the Canadian Trakehner Horse Society and was accorded their approval as a breeding stallion in their Stud Books. Out of six categories, he attained four scores of 8 and two of 7. (His official measurements: Height - 155 cm; Heart Girth - 178 cm; and Cannons - 19.5 cm). With the advent of the Sport Horse division in the Arabian show world GAR-SUN has continued to excell. This is absolutely his forum and I am very thankful the AHA finally recognized the needs of a great number of wonderful Arabian and partbred Arabian horses. He is without a doubt an amazing performance horse and has acquired many Regional Championships and Top 5's in Dressage, up to Level III, Show Hack, Sport Horse Under Saddle and has the distinction of being undefeated Region 17 Sport Horse Stallion in Hand, both open and amateur to handle. At age 16 we took him to Sport Horse Nationals where he earned four Top Tens. In Sport Horse Under Saddle the class started with 72 horses, where he made two cuts and then was in the Top 10. He was Sport Horse Show Hack Top 10 in a field of 32 horses. In Sport Horse Stallion in Hand Open he ranked 5th out of a field of 33 horses and in the Amateur to Handle he ranked 5th out of a field of 31 horses most of which were under the age of 8 years. GAR-SUN has now been retired from the show ring. However he is still out and about. For the past three years he has been used as a demonstration horse in the Annual Farrier Competitions at the Canadian Finals Rodeo. As his manners are impeccable, he is often pulled out to be used in demonstrations; and he has proudly represented the Arabian breed at several horse information displays and projects. Gar-Sun consistently passes on his superior disposition, presence, breathtaking movement & athletic ability to his offspring. Those I have raised are just now starting their performance careers.
