Bremervale Andronicus
Bremervale Andronicus+

Everything has gone as planned, and you have that promising foal from your SHN Payback-nominated stallion. You know it’s going to be a while before you can back him, so you tell yourself to be patient and just wait.

Here’s a better idea—enroll that filly or colt in the Young Sport Horse Futurity!

It’s simple: pay the nomination fee, show your youngster at all approved breed, USEF/EC/USDF, and warmblood shows (not inspections), and earn points. So while your baby is learning good ground manners and representing your breeding program, he’s also collecting Futurity Payback points. If he winds up in the top five at the end of the year, he’ll be bringing home a check, too!

TS Black Tie Affair
Seeking versatility with a good mind and color? You’ve found him in TS Black Tie Affair, a pinto 7/8th Arabian decked out in flashy formal attire.

He’s not relying on his color to win—this stallion has a staggering 22 Pinto World and Reserve World Championships in many disciplines, including multiple championships in dressage. For even more proof of his versatility, he has 30 Pinto ROM and ROE awards.

His wonderful temperament and high-school tricks have helped him earn the Arabian Ambassador Award. He’s also passing color, conformation, and good temperament on to his offspring who have championships in SHIH and competitive trail riding.

His owner Jan Sharp is also proud to announce that TA Black Tie Affair is going to be a Breyer horse model! Buy this breeding and you can watch him as an honored guest at BreyerFest 2011. If you miss out on the breeding, you can buy his model starting in July.

Amadeus Welcome Rookie Stallion:

Rookie Stallions and Recently Sold Breedings
New to the SHN Payback Program for 2011, we present the February installment of our Rookie Stallions Roster. Although they are new to our program, they have already established remarkable records in the show ring and/or breeding shed. Please welcome the talented hooves of Arctic Sensation (ASB), Amadeus (Oldenburg NA), El Dorado Spitfire (ASB), and Gioia Del Cuore (Hanoverian).

Congratulations to the mare owners who didn’t hesitate and bought the 2011 breedings to: Capt Han Solo+, Coronado WW, Escapade, Indepen+++/, Ridley, Spotz Sensation, and Vici.

Keep in mind that more and more people are participating in the SHN Payback Program, which means there is more competition for those stallion breedings. Don’t get left out! You have only one opportunity a year for each SHN-nominated stallion at half-price. When the breeding is sold, you’ll have to wait another full year, so don’t hesitate when you find the stallion that’s right for your mare and breeding program.
Senior Stallion Spotlight: Revelry

PV Aspire
PV Aspire+++//

The first time she saw him at five months old in a class of almost 100 entries, Diane Grande knew he was The One. 24 years later, he’s proved her instincts were right over and over again.

Revelry is a gorgeous dark bay pure Polish son of AAF Kaset+, a halter Triple Crown winner. AAF Kaset+ was in turn sired by U.S. and Swedish National Champion *Aladdinn. His lovely dam BOH Romance was a daughter of the amazing Negatraz. A champion in her own right, she passed that on as a champion-producer herself.

While Revelry is a U.S. National Top Ten Futurity Stallion himself, he has proven he can sire champion caliber foals that excel in multiple performance disciplines. His "Reverlings" (offspring) have championships in HUS, SHIH, Working Hunter, Driving, Hunter Hack, Sidesaddle, SHUS, and more!

His offspring include the purebred gelding PV Aspire+++//, who has 10 National Championships in SHIH, SHUS, Working Hunter, and Hunter Hack.

Revelry is an Arabian Sire of Significance and is nominated as a Breeders Sweepstakes Sire.

"Revelry is the whole package," says Diane. "He has straight legs, a tremendous hip and loin, and a great laid-back shoulder. Of course, we think he’s gorgeous. But along with that, he has a great personality."

Final Salute
What was the sport of "Eventing" originally called, and when did it first appear in the Olympics?

"The Militaire" was the sport's original name, and next year it will be 100 years old as an Olympic sport since it first debuted in 1912. All Olympic equestrian sports were restricted to men only until 1952.
